Putting your players in the best position to succeed - that sounds like an offensive minded Wade Phillips! Love how McVay is making this work. He doesn't care about "hiding plays because it's the preseason" - he believes in using it to fine tune advantages like Gurley spli wide against a LB. His WR/TE schemes do the same thing - the objective is for the scheme to get the players what they're best at. I LOVE THIS!!!
Someone said that Goff has a tough day yesterday (Lindsey Thirry?) What it means to me is that McVay is expanding and trying new things against Wade's defense. The best time to try new things is during practice or even preseason when it doesn't count. Doesn't mean he won't come back to it, but nothing ventured nothing gained.
