Too much. Too little. Whatever.
The point is, how often does a young, healthy #1 WR come available?
Not sure I remember the last time (someone help me here).
They are hard to get and expensive.
Is there really any debate that he is a #1 WR? Haven't heard any.
Is there really any debate that, when healthy, he is a top echalon WR? Haven't heard any.
If he didn't have an injury history, he'd never have been available.
If Buffalo wasn't going through a rebuild and wants to tank in order to get one of these 3 QBs coming out, he wouldn't even have been available.
It is the injury history that is the risk; not the rare talent or performance. There is no evidence that the injuries have slowed him down or diminished him in any way.
But NOW.....he has a good coaching staff and a team with offensive potential.
That he is 24 years old is a huge part of this. He's the typical age of an average NFL rookie. When the Rams resign him long term he'll only be 25!!
He IS healthy; he's gone through training camp, no issues. He played in a preseason game, did well, no issues. No playing restrictions. It's not like he's got a gimpy knee.
Had the NE Pats done this same deal the story line would be: the rich get richer. Or that's why they keep winning Superbowls.
This was a great move by the Rams. The pieces are all in place to begin a rise out of the basement. Will it happen? We'll see. But Goff will be at the center of whether it does or doesn't. And what I saw against the 'Boys was encouraging.
