Writing is on the wall that he thinks he's worth more then the Rams are willing to pay.
Regardless how he plays next year he will hit the free agency market... Maybe he decides to take a little less to stay in LA, but I doubt it as some team is going to over pay for him.
IMO, we should have let him go this year and went after AJ Bouye
