Allen brought Maxie in from the Eagles.
My next door neighbors lived next to Maxie when he was growing up in Alabama. They got me signed photos of Maxie when I was a kid in 1967. So he became my instant favorite.
He was also the captain of Allen's defense and called signals playing behind the Fearsome Foursome.
