Just to make note: There is no doubt Gurley is a gifted runner, and when he hits the hole he's great. Just cutting off the 'slippery slope' here.
Well your view has Gurley himself being basically fine, just that things around him regressed. Different approach meant better results ("a lot more opportunity for quick reads" ).
I don;t argue against the idea that something went amiss with blocking, scheme, and the line in general in 2016 (note: that;'s several things going wrong at once).
But I see Gurley as himself contributing to the mess of 2016. In other words there can;'t be improvement overall in the run game unless he changes too from what he was and was doing in 2016. So that;'s several things going wrong at once, including Gurley.
