1) Did he touch the ball or rush the passer?
2) Did he play in an offense that had NFL elements? Word has it that it was a run offense with a handful of plays in college. It was known that he had limited technique and couldn't pass block yet and had very little experience.
Here is his college bio.
Robinson was redshirted in 2011.[4] He took over as the starting left tackle in 2012 and started 11 games. As a sophomore in 2013, he was a first team All-SEC selection.[5]
A couple of things here. Redshirted. Did the Rams look into that? I know that is more common than most realize, but I still would want to know the reason.
He played 2 years. Is that correct? I don't know, but I see a guy redshirted with 2 years of playing experience in an offense that had a handful of plays and very little pass blocking experience. Simple formations basically across the board.
It was a shot in the dark for a pick so high that you can get an entire draft for in these days.
Are you seriously claiming that only a player that "touches the ball" is worthy of a #2 overall pick, 81? Including LOT's? C'mon...
That is clearly a non starter. No need for me to name names of HOF players at LOT, is there?
As to the rest of your above post? You can repeat it over and over but it won't change a darned thing. GRob was a consensus #2 overall pick at the time. But he was a bust.
Those two things are true despite endless 20-20 hindsight and rationalization.
