Yes May/June means much less than August. But it's hard to ignore that if he's making mistakes to the point that he's supplanted in week 2 of OTAs after struggling for three years mentally then the chances the light switch comes on soon become less and less. I like the kid because I don't think it's laziness or lack of desire. But athleticism at this point counts much less than knowing where to be and when. And if he's not doing that in shorts in June what happens when things get ratcheted up in late July/August?
I agree. But it could also be that they figure this out and have an idea how he learns better.
I don't think he struggles mentally, I think he lacks confidence and panics. The lack of confidence may come from being a slow learner, but then some people are just slow learners...that doesn't always translate into the more dire way of putting it ("struggles mentally" ).
In the end, no matter what anyone says though, we actually really don't know. It may look like the odds point a certain direction, but that is not the same thing.
So yeah it could also be that what happens in shorts in June gets fixed and August therefore turns out to be different than expected.
Honest. We don't know. For every way of construing it that tries to make it look set right now, it's possible to find an alternative way of putting it that shows we really don't know yet.
