IMO people are reading way too much into one absence and the competition with Brown.
On paper anyway GR could come through in the end.
Farr recently said that if he had his druthers, he would take GR because he's a physical monster, but that's provided he comes through.
I agree with that.
Being a physical monster means absolutely nothing if he cannot execute on the field the way he needs to.
Of course on paper Robinson should definitely beat Brown out at RT. I doubt there is anyone who would disagree with that.
However, at the end of the day beating out Brown at RT may not be saying much, as we have no clue as to how well Brown may end up playing the position.
I`m not impressed if Robinson ends up winning the RT job unless he is playing well. Subpar play due to lack of good competition at the position isn't good enough and he would need to be replaced by a better player at some point. Unfortunately that player may not be on the roster.
Personally, I think Havenstein is still the best RT the Rams have right now. He played well enough as a rookie and is in even better shape now and more experienced. The key is how healthy is he now, as I feel that was a big part of his struggles last season. I would take a healthy Havenstein at RT over both Robinson and Brown right now, and keep those guys inside at guard.
I know Kromer has his own philosophes on the OL and he`s already getting praised around here without a single game played yet. Time will tell on how it works out. I know many loved the great Boudreau as well and he ended up failing. The positive is, I doubt Kromer could do much worse.
