Got curious about who they thought were worse than L.A.
The worst?
Jets
and then
Bears
Jets team?
Receivers: Eric Decker, Quincy Enunwa, Jalin Marshall, Robby Anderson, Quinton Patton, ArDarius Stewart, Charone Peake, KD Cannon, Frankie Hammond
Tight Ends: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Jordan Leggett, Eric Tomlinson, Braedon Bowman, Brian Parker
Decker has been injured, and I really like Leggett, even as rookie I think he can come in and compete. Patton, Peake, Stewart, and Cannon. Well, Patton was well regarded. Injured as a 9er? Was more of "no drops" type of receiver. Peake? IDK. Was a late round prospect. Stewart has specs, and is Bama guy. Still a rookie. I guess I can't debate they've got them ranked lower than us.
Bears team?
Receivers: Kevin White, Cameron Meredith, Markus Wheaton, Kendall Wright, Deonte Thompson, Daniel Braverman, Josh Bellamy, Rueben Randle, Titus Davis, Tanner Gentry
Tight Ends: Zach Miller, Adam Shaheen, Dion Sims, Ben Braunecker, MyCole Pruitt
White has been injured. Sure looked the part when healthy. Wheaton, and Wright give better specs than the Jets, I guess. Wheaton was injured nearly all of last year. Braverman was a guy Alyo liked. Meredith led the team in specs. Who? Perhaps if they're healthy Bleacher could be proved wrong. That division seems rougher to handicap, but it does seem the Bears aren't front runners.
Look, I can't blame the BR guys for appointing the Rams a low mark. They are perennially bad, have a kid for a coach, have no 1000yd plus rec on team, and no double digit TDs for last year's group (incl rushing TDs)
It's clearly part of why I have a hard time seeing an amazing year ahead; I'll take a .500 season, and enjoy that.
BTW. McVay's former team, Wash?
Ranked at 26. Lost Garcon. Lost Desean. Lost McVay. Some drama / distraction with Cousins contract.
Receivers: Terrelle Pryor, Josh Doctson, Jamison Crowder, Brian Quick, Maurice Harris, Robert Davis, Ryan Grant, Matt Hazel, Kendal Thompson, Reggie Diggs
Tight Ends: Jordan Reed, Vernon Davis, Niles Paul, Jeremy Sprinkle, Derek Carrier
Pryor a nice add. Doctson has injury issues? Sprinkle could be a nice addition. Redskins present an interesting spot. With Cowboys showing so well, and one never knows how combative the NFC east can be with Giants and Eagles; They might do well, or they may lose games they appear quite winnable.
Perhaps the largest issue facing McVay. If we score points, can he manage late in games to pick up 1st downs, get Wade's defense to make the stops, and get the receivers to make epic, impact plays in crunch time? Truly the misery of last year seem to be as games wound down at the end of the first half, and the inability to deal late in games with adversity.
Oh, well. Lot of speculation, but as much as BR gets hammered for their poor takes? Their depiction of the L.A. teams group isn't wildly off target.
