Well, that is totally absurd. I'm sure he's learned a lot since he was drafted. He now has a full year of experience including 7 starts, he's a year older, and he's gained size and strength. To suggest that he's in the same place a year later is ridiculous. He should have better blocking, a better scheme, better running and better receivers. No reason he shouldn't look better. Now how much better, that's anybody's guess. I think lots.
Some people are going to take that as Polian dissing Fisher, though of course Polian is too classy for that.
Really I just took it as Polian talking about a very inexperienced qb who began deeply behind (cause of his college offense) starting over with a completely new system after year one, which differs greatly from who he was really talking about---Prescott. Prescott has the same system so really is in year two. Polian was just suggesting IMO that Prescott is in a better situation than Goff is. There's stuff online where Polian compares Prescott to Goff and Wentz, and says basically that DP is in the better situation while Goff is starting over and in that sense is like a rookie all over again (at least compared to Prescott).

We agree that Dak fell into a far better situation than Goff did.
I'll just leave it at that. Lol.
Prescott went to an offense that he was actually fairly familiar with from college.
Goff was an Air Raid qb and miles behind the pro game.
