McVay clearly knows offense. He hired a strong staff to include a Hall of Fame DC. How many times do you see young head coaches F it up by being afraid to hire a quality coordinator on the other side of the ball? Or not having the clout to do so?
This guy is different. Jon Gruden says he's special, and thus far, based on how well he's constructed his staff, I'd have to say that description fits him perfectly.
Beyond that, there is some talent on this team at key positions. So why not embrace a little hope eh?
Yeah I agree with a lot of that.
A lot of different combined circumstances buried a lot of the team talent in 2016. Many of those circumstances went away.
So combine that with a coach who SO FAR looks to be doing all the right things, and yes guarded optimism is valid.
Having said that they still have a rookie qb and a few questions to answer up and down the roster.
But still.
