He's had a fabulous run as an owner, no doubt.
But honestly? He has benefited tremendously from two things. Both from long ago.
1) The Bellichick hire was a brilliant move. Many others could have had Bellichick, but wanted no part of him. Kudos to Kraft for that move.
2) Stealing Tom Brady in the 6th round. That's not good ownership. That's being Lotto lucky.
Kraft has been smart enough to stay out of the way of both pretty much since, which is what Kroenke prefers to do. A Bellichick and Brady for 16-17 years can make an owner look pretty danged smart, huh?
If Snead and McVay can be as good of a team as some of us think they might, we might have a nice little run, ourselves.
My point? Stay in the background non interfering owners can do just fine. No need to be a Jerry Jones type.
