I'm with you. I think he has the ability that good coaching can help his route running. The hands thing is on him to solve. As is the mental aspect of the game/new scheme. It's simply putting in the work in those areas.
I do think they can pull more out of Austin than previous coaches have. How much more is the unknown. I'd simply like him to finally average better than 10 yards/catch. 12 would be ideal. Regardless of if that's 40 catches or 70.
I really wish they'd simply picked up his 5th year option for 2017. I could not understand, other than wanting a good story line for Hard Knocks, why he would be given a long-term extension.
