I'd imagine it has something to do with the combination of them switching to a 4-3 defense and having picked Armstead, Buckner, and Thomas over the last three years and they can play all across the line and they want to free up space to carry more guys to look at on their depleted roster. Purcell might not even make the team, but saying that a player is no good because 10 other positions never worked that well together is out there.
