I think Spruce makes it over Thomas.... McRoberts could sneak up there but Thomas had some drops and mistakes... I think Spruce can get his spot
Here's the thing, 29.
Reynolds can take the top off a D.
Woods and Kupp? Maybe not so much.
I honestly don't think Tavon is much of a deep threat, despite his speed. Do you?
Which brings us to Thomas and Spruce.
Thomas has the deep speed but suspect hands.
Spruce has fabulous hands but lacks the deep speed.
Does McVay want to enter the season with only one genuine deep threat WR? (Reynolds, the rookie). I don't think so.
So, by a process of elimination, either Thomas has to prove that his hands problem has been corrected, OR one of the other WR's with deep threat speed and decent hands might take his place and maybe Spruce's, too.
As an aside, I wonder if hypnosis has been considered for Thomas as a means to correct his hands problem? I'm serious. The kid can make acrobatic, even one handed catches on one play, then turn around and drop one that lands in his breadbasket. So frustrating. I can only imagine how frustrated HE is.
