I feel like these guys did an extremely in-depth look at the field of prospects and found guys who are of good character, and who have traits they want. I'm not worried about to what extent it matches what the media thought of them, because for once it just feels like the entire scouting department and coaching staff were all going in one direction.
The first pick is the one that bothered me, but you know Everett does have what McVay wanted in the ability to break tackles and extend plays, not just athleticism but functional speed to elude and make plays. Wasn't my guy but whatever, I mean what do I know really. The rest of the picks, however, were astute pickups of guys who fit and even into the midrounds are guys who have enough talent to stick and maybe contribute.
What's funny here is this draft might be the one that is most knocked by everyone but then end up being one of our best. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me. I love C-Kupp, he is going to impact this offense this year. Reynolds is going to help down the road provided he wins a roster spot with teams contributions. The defensive picks were very shrewd, all of them guys who showed very good stuff on tape.
So again I could give zero Fs whether people want to criticize this draft. I'm looking ahead to camp and preseason and hoping these guys come in and help mold this roster into something we can be proud of.
