That offensive line was among the best ... I would say ... in modern NFL history.
They don't get get a lot of recognition in that regard ... historically, I mean ... because none of those teams even made a Super Bowls ... let alone won one.
Add their sheer physical dominance to John Robinson's 'student body' philosophy ... and it was a plug-and-play deal. Virtually any NFL-quality back could have gained at least 1,000 yards. And a thoroughbred like Dickerson was good for almost twice that.
I have always loved the passing game. Grew up in the late '60s and early '70s where teams throwing the ball even thirty times a game was rare and defenders were allowed to virtually assault receivers anywhere on the field.
But ... I loved watching those Rams' teams run the rock! It was a clinic ... every week. It was hammer time. Can't imagine the toll those giants paid for that ... but it was awe-inspiring to watch.
