Nope. I calling it like I see it. He was beaten out by CK and <gulp> rightfully so. Then seeing him was disheartening.
The corps around did not help but he was a mess.

Sure he was.
Goff was a big ol' hunk of chicken**** surrounded by piles of caviar.
You make it sound like there were diamonds everywhere you looked on the Rams' offense.
He did not play well, no one is disputing that easy to see fact....he had a very similar path in his rookie year to Eli Manning, with almost identical numbers....don't remember Eli being labele a bust or disaster after his half year of starting his rookie year....And like I explained earlier, it is a fallacy that he was "beaten out by Case Keenum" there was NEVER a competition. Fisher made up his mind early that they were going to let him sit and learn, coming from a spread offense like Cal, it was understandable... I was there in the beginning the middle and end of camp, Goff got 1/4 the reps as Keenum did with the ones...from day one to the end of camp.
You are correct in that Eli looked almost as bad as Goff however I will say Eli did start showing some promise toward the end of his rookie year.
The difference was that Eli came for a pro style offense and Goff did not.
Well that is one of the differences anyhow.
The constant excuses on this board however that Fisher caused all of Goff's problems are VERY misguided. In fact it can be argues that Fisher saved Goff from a sever beating and a possible 0-16 season.
Say what you want about Fisher, and I certainly have but he understood that Goff was nowhere near ready to play NFL football and protected the kid for as long as he could.
I would LOVE to know if Fisher was really in favor of drafting Goff but I guess that will always remain a mystery.

Your last words to me: "Your a great guy RFIP. I was very sad when you left the board, and your son, but was glad to see you back. Take care my friend, may God be by your side." 09/09/2017 12:58AM
No Nelson, you were a far better man than I, and I am sure an awesome husband and father as well. I will miss you my friend. -RFIP
