The biggest problem in predicting our OL situation to me is not guessing where Havs, GRob or Jackson might play, but having a plan when Saffold goes down. This guy is either our second best OL behind Whit or he's on IR. He seems to get hurt less often at OG, but to bet he'll make it through the season is folly. I am a big GRob fan and believe he'll help our team if he's put somewhere and not shifted around too much. I can see him being an excellent ROT. He's got the size, strength, speed to play it at an All Pro level. Maybe Havs has lost quickness from his foot injury and playing at RG might help him. Seems to me that the McVay line idea is creative and might be terrific. Adding Jackson to sub for RS or Sully makes total sense to me. If one goes down we don't do a total reshuffle Jackson steps right in. Brown could also and can push any of the starting five. Wickman, Rhaney, Donnal and the rest haven't impressed me at all. They'll be fighting for 8-10 spots with draftees and UFA rookies.
Speculating that far down the roster is impossible until we see who they add to the mix.
I can't see any possibility to trade GRob at all. We wouldn't get a good return and he still has tons of upside if he's not jerked around. I do agree that the refs didn't like Fish and they picked on GRob for Phantom holds. When you bulldoze your opponent straight into the ground it's not a hold. I saw many of those called last season. I feel pretty good at him blossoming if they KISS. Funny thing is, after he does do well this season we could very well rue not picking up the fifth year option.
