I see what you're saying. I just lean toward bolstering 2017 as much as they can. McVay needs some immediate ROI. In 2018 they have all their draft picks and a lot of cap room so I'm less concerned about next year.
I like what they've done overall in free agency but think they need 2-3 immediate contributors from this draft class. And it's very good at positions they need (WR, TE, CB, DE). I predict there will be 2-4 players from those positions sitting there at #37 that are considered top 25-30 overall players in this draft. They need another passing game weapon to help Goff that can play from week 1. I think even moving back 10-12 picks from #37 lowers their odds quite a bit.
Hypothetically, let's say Baltimore offers them a trade to #47 and gives them their 4th (#122) and a 3rd in 2018. Hard decision but personally I wouldn't take it. If Atlanta offered #s 63 and 95 plus a 2018 2nd I might listen though.
