He had some film, but, remember, Snead and Demoff are there too. They made fast decisions and granted this one was pretty much a no-brainer. If you look at what McVay says in praise of Woods, it's pretty obvious he wasn't going to find Britt that useful. It stands to reason that McVay says, this is what I am looking for, and Snead says, well...you might not want Britt then.
It would be very easy to sit down and say, which of our own free agents do we prioritize. Or do we want the cap space.
My guesses are, any decisions were based on discussion and collaborative thinking.
And they let some guys go who were good leaders and solid characters too. Hayes, Kendricks, and Reynolds, for example.
