I get that this year there is more pressure to nail the 2nd round pick because of a lack of a 1st, but I still stand by my comment. Its just how I would operate, and maybe I'm wrong.
2nd, I should add that as the rounds go my willingness to take a risk increases. How many 6th round picks make a difference or even make teams? So why not shoot for greatness?
Last but not least, how many not miss prospects are in the 2nd round? There is a reason they are in the 2nd round, although this year it could be a simple numbers issue. 32 picks and 40 first rounders. last year it was more like 20 first rounders. Point is there is a reason that makes them 2nd or 3rd round picks. They have a hole in thier game that keeps them from not miss prospects.
Oh and for fun (and on record), I want your 2nd round can't miss prospect for the Rams.

If you don't have a 1st rd pick and your first pick in the draft is 37th, you're looking for the same type player you would in the first round.
There are pro bowlers and HOF players chosen in the 2nd rd in EVERY draft.
The Rams are a team that won 5 games last season and have needs for impact players all over the roster.
There is NO WAY McVay would gamble on a raw player from a middle school division with his first pick.
You have that on record.
What you're asking me to do is near impossible for there will be a number of players on the board at 37 that will be players.
I don't follow where players are projected to go, but if you give me a few players I can tell you who can play and who can't!
But I might go with a Tyus Bowser at 37 and comeback with Adarius Thomas in the 3rd.
That might be a dynamite start!!
