Between his experience and knowing McVay I can see why they'd check him out and maybe give him a one-year deal. They would, I imagine, still draft a center but Sullivan could take the pressure off a rookie starting week 1. And still give Wichmann some work at center in OTAs and camp.
I don't know why so many people are assuming Wichman is a candidate for center. Nothing from the team has ever indicated that. They did say they will cross-train the guards but that's all of them, including David Arkin, who actually has played some center before.
Either way on Sullivan...some are worried that he has been banged up. As it happens he took 165 snaps last year, 98 on offense and 67 on special teams. He also I think has a start in there, subbing for an injured starter. So he appears to be okay though not getting younger. I agree, given all that he makes sense.
