I wouldn't be surprised to see Phillips moving Donald all around the front 7. He's such a disruptive player that doing so would instantly force offenses to change plays. And, if the Rams prepare for this from the get-go (OTAs & training camp), I could see them changing defensive alignments on-the-fly to counter the offense's change. This approach would make the Rams an exceedingly difficult defense to prepare for. No doubt, they would occasionally give up a big play too; but I think it would be well worth that risk. This would seem to fit in the Phillip's philosophy of playing to player's strengths too.
well, it's hard to tell. I think in base defense, when opponents are in base offense, either 21 or 12 .... then Donald will be a 3-tech, outside shoulder of the guard...on either stron or weak side
in nickle, my guess is theywill be a 4-dowbn line nickle and he will be a tackle. It's possible Phillips could run some 3-3 or 3-2 nickle, Williams did and on those occasions he could be in an unusual position...but by and large he will be same position he's always been
