The bottom line is "results" alone are both expensive and backward facing and out of the Rams range for a young proven star, #1 type WR because the previous, and partly current, brain trust has so badly squandered resources and put McVay in this position.
Now they have to actually earn their money, do the hard analysis and find the hidden gems that they can make shine in their plan. This is why McVay needs to truly be the brilliant young up and comer he's been billed as. If he's not, he can't turn the hand he's been dealt into a winner.
Results are proven. Woods is not and never has been a #1 WR.
When a 4 year WR has never done anything to prove #1 WR status, and he never has by the facts of 4 years of his production, we are all of a sudden going to speculate that he will be a #1 in his 5th NFL season because our favorite
team signed him?
Then when he never reaches that #1 status there will be a bevy of excuses as to why he didn't. Of course those people will never call them excuses and have a personal "out" on their projections and speculations. See it all the time.
When Woods actually proves it, I will be a believer and be the first one to admit I was wrong about it. He hasn't proved it yet after 4 years of facts.
And I was a fan of the signing and think he could be a solid #2 on a team like the Rams in 2017.
