One of the biggest question marks this off season is how Snead will perform. For me, that's an open question. And, of course, it's really early ... we have a long way to go before any real judgment is possible.
So, my point here is to simply pose the question to be watched as we go along: how will Snead do?
Now, I'll just say that, while I have been heavily critical of Fisher for at least 3 years, I always had the sense that Snead was doing pretty well. I always objected to the "Snisher" meme because I sensed that Snead was building a decent roster while Fisher kept failing to develop it.
I also tended to feel that Snead was working with Fisher's vision. Which a good GM should do.
Early on, I get the impression that Snead is operating differently than he would have done were Fisher to still be in charge. I sense a more broadly developed plan reflecting a coaching vision that sees the need for much more substantive change than Fisher would have been calling for.
But ... I don't really know much. Just an impression. I find the early moves encouraging and will be watching.
