Not only does McVay have an OC to assist him in LaFleur, plus a more experience QB coach in Olsen, but the presence/leadership of Phillips on defense and Fassel on ST really helps. Not that he should ignore those areas by any means but he will not need to be in the weeds there. They've got it. Rightfully, especially early on, his focus has to be predominantly on offense.

McVay has wisely surrounded himself with 2 of the league's very best at DC and ST coordinator.
He will be largely free to devote his attention to resurrecting an O from the sorry mess that was our '16 corps.
If sufficient talent is added via FA and the draft, I really like his chances.
He's demonstrated nothing but smart moves since his hiring, pending this TruJo handling.
