Seems like a bigger body, more sure hands guy should be in the slot to beat a quick jam and gain inside position on db - giving good target for QB. Our little guy doesn't really seem suited for that duty.
and the point of a slot, is he's off the ball, not as easy to jam a guy off the ball. The X is on the ball and teams can more easily jam the X if they play press . . . for slot, the idea is shiftiness and quickness can work well and if they play to try and jam, then converting a short to deep route can be a built-in sight option,
Small slots are still usefull, that is what TA was drafted for to be a physical upgrade to Amendola
