The Rams site list Britt, Austin, Quick, Cooper, Thomas, and McRoberts as the top 6 WRs. They also have Marquez, North, and Spruce on the roster. They'll keep at least 5 of them IMO.
I almost never find myself in disagreement with you, AlbaNY. But this post is an exception to the rule, I guess.
I see only 3 WR's that are highly likely to make the 53.
Austin. And only because of his contract status, frankly.
Cooper. Seems to have potential although never got the coaching he deserved.
Spruce. And this is solely based upon a good camp and a single preseason game performance, at that. A thin reed, indeed.
The rest?
Britt is only 50-50 to be extended. They well might like other FA's better.
Quick is a goner.
Thomas is very, very iffy because of his hands. Don't know if that's fixable. Love him on ST, though.
Marquez might be 50-50 if his ST play appeals to them enough. But they've gotta LOVE him on ST.
North and McRoberts have been jags under the old regime. New staff might like and develop them, but I doubt it.
The new coaching staff will put fresh eyes on everybody. Every single WR is gonna have to fight like hell and earn his snaps, much less starting position.
I see some combination of 2-3 WR's brought in via draft and FA this offseason. I see the newbies with inside tracks to be starters, too. If Britt is extended, he would be included as one of my FA projected acquisitions, btw.
Might sound kinda cold blooded or pessimistic, but I sense that these new coaches are gonna demand results and will not tolerate the drops, poor routes, poor blocking, missed audibles, and other mental errors that the previous coaches tolerated.
The result will be a dramatically improved WR room. Something that this O sorely needs.
If I were a WR on this team, I would be BEGGING Goff and/or Mannion to throw passes to me from now until camp. And as many as possible after every single practice until opening day, too. Their very careers might depend on it. Probably do depend on that type of dedication and improvement, actually.
