I don't agree that without Martz Warner would have been nothing.
He didn't even recognize Warner for what he was when he first arrived...Martz had to be told that no, he could not replace Warner as the #2 before camp, that Warner was going to be the #2.
What we get with Martz and Warner is one great coach (a coordinator in this case) both helping and benefitting from a great player, while at the exact same time a great player helped and benefitted from a great coach.
But Warner had too much going for him. If they hired a different coordinator--assuming that different guy was also good--Warner still would have been a good qb. As it stood he had already impressed the team with his abilities in practice and running the scout team.
Warner was not manufactured out of nothing. He brought his own set of things to the table.
So no I don't agree that Martz would be the sole and chief reason Warner did well, if in fact that's what you're saying.
