I'll agree. just cuz you're running the same scheme doesn't mean that in-game play calling is natural

to me the only player I can think of protecting on offense is Whitworth. I don't need him out there that much at all. Not worth having that cat our there in live snaps with scrubs diving at knees.
Cigs was better at adjusting the defense in the course of the game. That led to more Gurley 2nd half long runs.
BUT I also say that Gurley himself was a problem in 2016. He did not work as hard in the 2016 off-season and it showed. I also say there was more than one problem in 2016, and Gurley was just one of them.
