The thing is Cousin's strength is as a downfield thrower. It was what stood out to me about him at Michigan St. and has continued in Washington. If anything, his weakness is on the shorter stuff. Goff is pretty much the opposite. So, I'm not sure they can or should try to do with Goff what they did with Cousins. McVay has stressed tailoring the scheme to the talent, as has Phillips. I'm not sure we should expect the Rams passing game to look like the Redskins did.
But, it's good Goff likes McVay so much and believes he's the right guy for him. He seems genuinely excited about it, so that is at least a positive.
