I was thinkin along these lines based on what Wade has said about how he uses his personnel
and doesn't quite play a traditional 3-4 two gap....Wade's is more one gap he said. iirc
Also, that his ILBs do NOT take on any OGs...only FBs/move TEs...so that's encouraging as our LBs are built for speed
Tree & Barron, I mean.
Anyway, just spitballin the front 7 here...from left to right
LOLB - Forrest/Longacre/Fox
LDE - Hayes/Westbrooks/Fox/Longacre
LILB - Ogletree/Hagre
LDT/NT - Brockers/CamThomas
RILB - Barron/Littleton/Grigsby
RDE - ADonald
ROLB - RQuinn/Sims
and any drafted players that might fit better. I do think they draft 2 CBs this draft...maybe re-sign TJ too
or move Mo to SS....and Davis to FS.
I would change that a little. My version includes some possible self-cancelling options---like, do you want Barron or Forrest at ILB? One or the other and the guy out probably isn't a back-up just not a fit and might go. I also list Donald as a 3-tech. I also have 3 other DE conversions after Quinn on both sides cause they would probably be trying to figure that out themselves based on that pool. ]
I added Easley cause he is an restricted FA which means easier to keep.
LOLB - Longacre/Fox/Sims
LDE - Hayes/Westbrooks
RILB - Barron? Forrest? /Littleton/Grigsby
LDT/NT - Brockers/Thomas
RILB - Ogletree/Hager
3-tech - Donald/Easley
ROLB - Quinn/ Longacre/Fox/Sims
They also have 2 practice squad LBs: Cassanova McKinzy (6-3 253) & Reggie Northrup (6-1 237)
So that's
present 4/3 DL starters & rotations guys who could fit a 1-gap 3/4 at DL (6)
Donald Easley Brockers Thomas Hayes Westrbooks
present 4/3 LB starters & rotation guys who could be converted to a 1-gap 3/4 at LB (12):
Barron Ogletree Quinn Forrest Sims Longacre Fox Littleton Hager Grigsby Northrup McKinzy
That's 18 guys for 15 spots before adding anyone.
(15 spots = presumably in the end, 7 DL, 8 LBs)
