I see yet another innocuous string got locked "not mine" but it almost discouraged me from posting in part because I could not and so I stopped reading post because I could not post. Sorta snowball affect.
I like the fact that McVay is genuine and open. He showed a nice deference and respect for some of our top defenders and he should.
Anyone looking for a drill sergeant to look down his nose at our defenders may be disappointed but is there any coach that would not be excited to see our Defensive stars on their side?
Having enthusiasm and being a communicator does not mean you will tolerate bad effort or play. It actually means you will address it straight up and you will make sure players know your expectations.
The Defenders response toward him is also great and having those guys on his side makes his half of the battle getting the offense going a lot lighter.
McVay will build the team around accountability and a high standard of effort and performance.
He is bringing in the right kind of teachers and coaches of the game who will get results or player that fall short will find a new team.
I am expecting this team to really blossom under him and I am more convinced now than ever we got the right guy and he was not on my radar but certainly fits what I believe they needed and so I will be eagerly await the fruit from this new start for a number of our players and for ma as a fan who was just about done with following the team. I am reinvigorated.
If Marshall Faulk knew the offensive principles and play calling was not sound and Gurley felt it was HS then you realy have to reboot like we are and hit the reset button after installing and upgrading to this lastest and greatest version. It may be a beta but it sure promises better than what we had.
