I don't like the fact that the Chargers are moving to LA. If it had to be done, however, it seems that there might have been a better way. The new stadium won't be ready until 2019. It would have made sense for the NFL to postpone the move until then. Given two more years, it might have been possible to find a mutually beneficial way to keep the Chargers in San Diego. Waiting until 2019, would have given the Rams a little time to become somewhat re-established in LA. If it turned out in 2019 that the move was in the best interest of the NFL, the Chargers could have made the move at that time and moved right in to the new stadium.
your logic is valid ...
as the Raiders will stay in Oakland for two more years before moving to Las Vegas.....
but there are probably a few back-stories from the business side between the Chargers and the City of San Diego that are impossible to resolve.
Maybe a good reporter will find out the answer to your question.
