Not sure why I'm warming to that idea. It's got a lot of potential downside - like, would the old man actually fire his own son if the time came, but Mike in the Football VP role is more comforting than Demoff in that role. Kind of like what the Jaguars are doing - though I'm ready that situation is a mess as Coughlin was never in on any of the HC interviews (wtf?)
I do worry about McVay lacking front office back up - Demoff and Snead trying to wear big boy pants and bringing in a very young coach they can push around a bit.
Sure hope they at least wait to interview Shanahan before they pull the trigger.
On the flip side - why did Jacksonville and Denver pass on Shanahan? Not saying it's a black mark - but I thought for sure Elway would have been a big booster. What was more impressive to him about Joseph?
