What these video clips showed me was that when the ball is snapped, that the Rams O-Line becomes a bunch of polite guys, there is no meanness in them at all.
That's essentially what zone blocking is. Its more finesse than power so they were actually doing what they were suppose to do.
zone blocking is letting the defense bully you?

With his Austin freeing up Gurley example, he's demonstrating the threat of Austin when you run the same formation but different plays.
it is a good concept, but the success of the play was the brain fart of the defender, not something Austin did that the WR on the other side of the field didn't do.

The defense has to account for the action with Austin, which they clearly do and did last season.
agreed. Austin himself is dangerous when he is in motion and/or coming out of the backfield ... this needs to be exploited by a good OC. I don't know if Austin will ever be able to become effective against press coverage, not sure if it is him or the coaching he has had ... or both. I"m ok with putting him in motion for every play. I'd love to see an OC that can do that.
I want this guy wearing Horns: Jordan Westercamp
the video doesn't show how good his hands really are. I think he can be the next Danny Amendola.... with Chris Carter's hands... and then some.
