As a Cal fan Rams should hire Dykes now to be QB coach. Great offensive mind that knows Goff better than anyone.
I'm not so sure how Dykes recent college offensive scheme would be compatible with the new HC's offensive scheme.
Just a guess but it seems doubtful that Dykes would be in play for the Rams QB coach without any recent experience teaching a Pro Style offense to his college quarterbacks.
I could be way off base on this but I don't see the fit on the surface. Goff is still learning to scrap the Bear Raid "RPO" (run pass option) habits he learned at Cal.
Like Gruden said about the RPO scheme, a Ridiculous Protection Offense. Dykes does know him best and groomed him in his BR spread scheme but the question would be, does that make Dykes best qualified to teach him under center Pro Formation concepts?
I'm not saying he's not at all qualified because of this but we can't assume he would be the best answer as the QB coach based on the success they had at together at California.
The thought of it happening is intriguing though and I'm just speculating from afar.
