That part about the ST coach upgrade bothers me. I want the Rams to sign Fassel for 3 years and tell whatever coach they hire he already has his ST coach if they don't want the job because of that then move on.
I do not want to lose the proven commodity in Fassel for some other unknown. We know Fassel is very good at what he does. Don't screw this up Rams.

I can't imagine any serious HC candidate objecting to coach Fassel.
He's very good at what he does, players love and perform for him, and I'm unaware of him being any source of friction within the organization.
Would be a big piece already in place for the new HC. One less thing on his to do list.
Just don't see a downside to locking Fassel up before somebody else pounces.
