Old Goat
Something that is seriously lacking on this team. For all of the rah rah antics of Tavon, fails of Kendricks and just plain cluelesness of Quick, KB did more for this team than any receiver has done in over a decade. And I used to hear from a certain poster at least five times a day when he was first picked up about what a failure he was going to be, but he's done good here with the garbage he was surrounded with. He'd be smart to hit the market hot and get his money.
I feel pretty much the same way, OG.
Britt puts up the best numbers by a Ram WR since Holt in this sorry O and so many want to let him walk? I don't get it.
Some thoughts...
Britt is our only experienced WR with production.
Britt was our best player on O last season, not that that's setting the bar all that high.
Tavon is probably a goner after this year due to his ridiculous contract.
A WR via FA is one possible solution, but will one be there as good, or better than Britt for around $6 million?
We may need to get a WR via FA in addition to Britt, for that matter.
Hitting on a WR via draft is always iffy, especially in their first year. Britt will produce from opening day.
Speaking of the draft, wouldn't it be nice to feel comfortable taking a DE and CB with our Day 2 picks? With Britt on board, we could.
Does anybody seriously feel comfortable with Tavon, Cooper, Thomas, and Spruce, plus a draft pick as our WR's come opening day? I sure don't.
This team has lots of holes that must be filled, especially on O. Why create yet another by not signing Britt? Let's help out our young QB and the new coaching staff a little bit by retaining Britt. I mean, it's not as if he hasn't earned it.
