that Robinson blocked six plays in college...SIX. I didn't want Robinson...and if I would have known that, I would have screamed even louder at the pick.
His limited strategy experience should have been a disqualifier.
How do you draft a guy #2 overall that has blocked six plays...five of them running plays? And...you're asking him to play the #1 valued position on the OL, especially in pass blocking.
Boudreau's hands were all over this. He personally went to workouts to evaluate him. "Oh...what a fleet of foot fellow this Robinson is!" Ok...not a quote from Boudreau but the recommendation he gave was strong.
And, this is why I'm putting less credence into all these national drafts guy. They all fall in line with the picks. With thousands of players coming out and the natural diversity of thought, how is it that everyone ranks the same top five guys...not 2 of 5 or 3 of 5...it's typically 4 o5 or 5 of 5. They all had Greg Robinson rated high. They all liked his potential. But did anyone else know this guy knew of only six plays to block in college?
The fact that he only blocked six plays in college came out in Robinson's second year...it was used as an explanation as to why he was struggling. Well...DUH!
Snead should be fired. Bourdreau will be gone. Thank goodness.
