Rams DC Gregg Williams bracing for 'interesting offseason'

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Speaking after a Friday practice that could end up being his last with the Los Angeles Rams, defensive coordinator Gregg Williams sounded like a man who was open to coming back but accepting of the fact that he probably won't.
The Rams, back in Los Angeles this season, have begun the search for a new head coach who will inevitably bring his own staff. The organization is casting a wide net and remains open-minded, but the more likely scenario is that a current offensive coordinator gets the job. And, if that's the case, perhaps said coordinator would lean towards keeping Williams, a seasoned, successful defensive coordinator who would allow a first-year head coach to focus on only one side of the ball.
But so much is uncertain right now.
All Williams knows is that he doesn't want to stop.
"I love coaching," Williams, 58, said. "I don't have hobbies. I'm happiest at practice. I'm happiest in games."
