If others HAVE done it before, then guys CAN do it now too. That is, it's quite possible.
That's all this says. And it's not conjecture. It's just true---there is a fair number of high-picked qbs who looked good after their rookie years didn't IN their rookie years, and it is impossible to rule that possibility out for Goff, too.
It's a thing that happens
By this logic any QB no matter how he plays "could" turn out good/great. If we're playing that game should just have kept the 6 picks and worked with Mannion (which he may end up the better qb any how).
I wasn't talking about ANY qb. First off I restricted it to high-picked first rounders generally, AND I was talking specificially about Goff.
Not ANY qb has enough obvious talent to end up being a high-picked 1st rounder.
AND the logic is clearcut. Other high-picked first round qbs started out rough as rookies---and I might add, frequently with people prematurely labelling them busts---and made it. So can Goff.
You may not agree it will happen, but you can't deny it could. You may WANT to deny it could, but, you would have no basis for that.
That's why most of us wait on making our final judgments. It saves backtracking later.
