Not to any head coach.
If you think you've got to be great just so the QB you're stuck with for at least 3 more years can be serviceable, plus you lack draft picks because of that QB, that's not an attraction for any head coach.
I'm not saying that's how every head coach would see Goff, but if some do, that would absolutely go in the "Cons" column of the decision making table.
NO HC is gonna pass on the Rams job or feel any added pressure because of Jared Goff.
Its a NON-ISSUE!
Where you get that any coach would be "stuck with Goff for at least 3 more years" is bizarre.
Ever hear of the Packers, Seahawks or Redskins??
I was responding to the premise you forwarded, which was that it was a non-issue EVEN IF the prospective head coach thought Goff would be serviceable at best with great coaching. That's an easy BS call. Of course in that case the coach in question would be stuck with him for at least 3 more years. And yes, I've heard of the Redskins. They drafted a starting caliber NFL QB in the 4th round the same year they traded for and picked RG3 as a planned hedge. Did the Rams? Still, the Skins were stuck with him for 3 years minimum, and that was an exceptional situation. No incoming head coach that wasn't high on Goff would be counting on such an exception. Ever heard of the 49ers and Alex Smith, the Rams and Sam Bradford, the Jets and Mark Sanchez, the Titans and Vince Young, etc? And none of those teams made the size of investment in those QB's that the Rams have in Goff.
Here's what will happen. Any head coach that ends up taking the Rams job will say they did so at least in part because Goff was there. They will say that whether they truly believe it or not. And they will pray Goff makes them look good for saying it.
