If you have one that is better than average you keep him and let him improve, if possible of course. This is IMO a more important decision than the HC hire. GM is the second most important guy on the payroll after the QB. At least that's how I see it.
If they fire Snead then hire a guy who isn't good it will be a 5 - 6 year setback for the team by the time the new hire loses his job and a new guy comes in and fixes it. Look at the last three guys in charge.........Fisher/Snead, Devaney, Zygmunt. Three guys, 16 seasons,
Fisher has had final say on player selection, and we know that is true. Snead has made the call on street free agents, but the draft has been Fisher for the most part. We've heard that he didn't want to do the Goff deal, but not from ANY credible sources, just talking heads who don't know any more than anyone else. Maybe Fisher picked guys that Snead wanted, we don't know.
I wouldn't want to take a chance as a fan. As the owner I'm guessing Kroenke and Demoff or at least Demoff know the real deal and they will NEVER say anything to anyone.
If I were Kroenke I'd roll with Snead, I'd keep Demoff away from the coaching search and hire someone to do it like the Jaguars did, check this article out:
However, the Jaguars have hired Jed Hughes of Korn Ferry International to help spearhead their search after meeting with him Wednesday, which could expand their list of candidates, the sources told ESPN.The New York Jets once used Hughes to help hire general manager John Idzik, and the Houston Texans used him to help hire Bill O'Brien. He also helped the Michigan Wolverines land Jim Harbaugh.
