I'd go even further and say that's ridiculous, from what I've seen... BUT - I didn't see the ones talked about that occurred today.
I think they're just bad at it. Not always... but no consistency and definitely not a 'strength' nor even a 'satisfactory' aspect of defense.
They do 'swarm', however... and that is noticeably better, IMHO, than pre-Fisher days.
is saying what Pats said internally, what the OC or RB coach said when they scouted the Rams, then, in the game, Mo proved them right. Only Mo knows what happened and if he was avoiding a hit, but it sure looked bad. But to me, it's funny suggest Blount didn't watch the game, then put their expert opinion over Blount's.

We all saw 31 and what he did.
His action cannot prove them "right" about the defense as a whole since they're NOT right about that. Which is why I put it this way--
- I would say leaving 31 out of it for the moment that they can often be bad at it. But I don't see where they AVOID it, which is what Blount, in his widely regarded professor of football insight mode, claimed. And yes he and anyone else is wrong about that if they are claiming 31's bad play on the Blount score is indicative of the defense as a whole--that they bail on or avoid or evade one on one tackling. Nonsense. We all know better.
