Somebody leaked this to the press this morning. Fisher himself was surprised this was leaked. So, the Rams never made an official announcement of an extension.
Dickerson said that all Demoff would say to him point blank is the Rams and Fisher had been talking about an extension. He never said the Rams extended Fisher.
Yes, The Rams can still fire Fisher this January and he gets the 8 million for next season but he is gone. Essentially its a buyout if Fisher is fired.
My Opinion: The Rams team is in total free fall at this time. They are not even COMPETING on the field and that has to be disturbing to Kroenke and Demoff.

3. The man didn't even have a red challenge flag on him to challenge the non-catch call on the play with Brian Quick today.
Signs of stress? Maybe.
I think that logic prevails in this case. Logic is the Rams probably do not win another game this season and finish 4-12. That is their worst finish under Fisher as far as I know and the team does not look to be any closer to being a playoff team then it id in 2012 when Fisher took over. That is five years. That counts for something whether fans here want to admit it or not.
Logic is, the Rams are stuck in LA and they cannot just move again and sucker in another community with 'WE ARE HERE!" Yippee!! No, they have to work to make this team better so the fans will continue to buy in. They need the fans to buy in now. All the fans and the media are well aware that Fisher is not getting the job done. Hence, a change is coming despite how much lipstick they currently are applying to this.
