How about these excuses:
Team loses it's starting QB to non contact injury before season starts. Future HOF running back injured and misses bulk of season. 11 games in they have a winning record and are in playoff hunt - Vikings.
Team loses it's franchise QB 12 plays into first preseason game. Has to start a 4th round rookie pick alongside rookie rb. Teams goes 10-1 can clinch a playoff spot this weekend - Dallas
Team loses several key free agent stars on Defense. HOF qb retires in offseason. Team starts a 2nd year 7th round QB no on has ever heard of. 11 games in they have a 7-4 record and are battling for a playoff spot - Broncos.
I would love for Demoff to explain which of the below problems is related to moving:
Throw guaranteed money at a QB who is already under contract before he's started a game for the team - then cut him after one year and eat his salary.
Throw 42 million on a gadget receiver / special teamer and then not get him the ball more than a handful of times a game
Turn a rookie of the year RB into one of the worst rated backs in the leauge
Hire a rookie OC who's designed one of the least productive offenses in the league
Hire a rookie QB coach to develop your QB of the future.
Keep you QB of the future on the bench week after week so a journeyman on a 1 year deal can get all the game snaps.
Let your starting safety and best CB walk and then tag your second best CB, pretty much guaranteeing he will walk next year - all because you spent your cap money on a QB who no longer plays for the team and a gadget wr / special teams player.
Make almost no changes week after unproductive week.
Yes, that drive to Thousand Oaks sure is murder. What a load of 7-9 bs. It's not like the team had to haul boxes around in the offseason.
