DETROIT Michigan: Head coach Jeff Fisher once again displayed poor judgment and made a terrible decision just moments after the game. Fisher was so irate about the loss, he kicked out members of the media before talking to the team.

And it has nothing to do with this discussion.

Rams players had attacked the Detroit victory kneel.

He let them know that's not acceptable.

A coach admonishing his team is a behind closed doors thing.

Meanwhile no one is holding your reporter accountable for misconstruing the story. That "irate at the loss" thing is their own invention.

...

And to me it has everything to do with this discussion

We know the Rams players have displayed over and over that they have no discipline under Fisher's watch (see their penalty counts year in and year out)

At Detroit his team committed an act of poor sportsmanship acting like sore losers under his watch (because in my opinion he's lost this team) and has for the last couple of years or more.

The actions in Detroit was a combination of his teams sportsmanship at the end of the game along with the total meltdown of the losing the game causing him to lock out the media so he could make a statement to his team that their actions were unacceptable..... or how ever you want to construe it.

Fisher to me is the numero uno reason why his players loose their composure in games piling up red flags...... Fisher's handling of the media is no surprise because we have seen it for years now.

The media sees trends through the actions of his players behavior and repetitive actions/lack of discipline over and over again which in return keeps this team below .500 for 4 1/2 years and counting................

The reported actions of his players behavior towards the media imo is another responsibility of the HC which pertains to this thread..

How some of his players recently have been reported refusing to speak to the media might just be a direct relation to their HC and with the subject/content of the opening post in this thread..

Oh and he's not my reporter.... He just reported an action taken by the Rams HC towards the media because the coach doesn't have control of his teams behavior.. The opening post was about Rams players and media so my posting of this report that occurred in Detroit fits the thread just fine.

Lastly........... I have supported Fisher and been one of his biggest fans but after last seasons melt down and the Carolina game this season, nobody is going to change my mind based on message board threads/topics/stats and propaganda to give him a 6th chance..

I now march to the drums of those that have wanted him gone for much longer than I have.

You're taking some things wrong. First "your reporter" just means the guy you quote there. I think you read things into that phrase that are not there. But that's just minor.

Main thing here-- I wasn't arguing one way or another about the discipline thing. I didn't raise that larger issue at all. What I had was one very specific thing to say and I said it, and what I said was very narrow in its focus---that is, the reporter you quote does not get that particular story right. And that's just true.

Now, you can go into the larger issue if you want, and maybe I would even join you...but being upset at the team about an issue like that does not mean every article you post on it will be accurate, and it's perfectly fine if I point that out in this case. That's no big deal. You may be upset by the penalties, which is fine with me, but that has nothing to do with me pointing out that the account provided on that one specific issue---throwing the reporters out after the Detroit game---is not accurate. I mean it's just not, and there's nothing wrong with me saying so.

In terms of the action in Detroit itself, IMO Fisher was right to throw the reporters out on that one. It would have been wrong not to.

But if as you say there are plenty of examples of what bothers you, then you're fine---drop that example and go with a different one. Shrug. No big deal. That shouldn't cause any problems. What we should never do is act as if someone like me disagreeing on a specific, narrow point like that and pointing out a specific inaccuracy is something that needs to be hashed over. Of course I get to do that. Of course we care about the accuracy of media reports, one at a time one case at a time, and that does not interrupt or interfere with any larger issues.

So, again, the writer is wrong on that one thing. That should not be a big deal, pointing that out.

It annoys me when press reports are not accurate and when we as posters know more about what happened than they do. I point it out a lot when it happens.

So fair enough?
