I really don't quite get how the extension worked. But if you look at the cap charge breakdown on sportrac.com or overthecap.com it looks like after 2017 they can be free of him with little to no cap hit. My assumption was the extension's guaranteed dollars didn't kick in until after the $12M option for 2017 they picked up. But I think that's incorrect.
